The Museum of Broken Relationships
The Museum of Broken Relationships is the second-strangest museum I’ve visited in Croatia. It chronicles failed relationships of all kinds. The lengths vary from days to decades. They can be heartbreaking, hilarious, and sometimes a little scary.
From the website:
At its core, the Museum is an ever-growing collection of items, each a memento of a relationship past, accompanied by a personal, yet anonymous story of its contributor. Unlike ‘destructive’ self-help instructions for recovery from grief and loss, the Museum offers the chance to overcome an emotional collapse through creativity - by contributing to its universal collection.
The following is a small sample of some of the items the museum has on display. Each item has a title, the length and date of the relationship, and the location in both English and Croatian.
There used to be a second location in Los Angeles, which famously had a set of breast implants.
This one hit me right in my little gay heart.
Some casual voodoo dolls.
A little creepy.
Love a twist ending.
A novella.
CREEPY AF
sweet sweet revenge.
