A Visit to Croatia's Froggyland
Froggyland is the brainchild of a Hungarian taxidermist named Ferenc Mere. It’s a tiny little museum in Split, Croatia that houses over 500 taxidermied frogs constructed in various vignettes. You’re not meant to take photos, but there was no way I couldn’t; the world must know about Froggyland.
The techniques used in the taxidermy were extremely advanced for the time, requiring no incisions to be made on the frogs.
Froggyland is located in Split, Croatia. Split is the entry point to visiting islands like Vis or Hvar as well as visiting Krka National Park. Entrance is 50 kuna (~$7).
These unruly frogs are getting a stern dress down from their teacher.
The positions of the frogs makes me giggle.
A must for history junkies
